Suriya steals the ‘show’

Monday (February 27) was an important day for Suriya for the actor took the avatar of a television anchor by hosting 'Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi', the Tamil version of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', on Vijay TV. The actor emerged a winner in this new trade too, as the way he presented the hugely anticipated show won him applause from all possible circles. From his colleagues to friends to fans, everyone is congratulating him, we learn. "This is because of the homework Suriya did before he started shooting for Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi. He personally visited the sets of KBC on Mumbai, took notes on how the show is being hosted there and even met Amitabh Bachchan," sources say. On the acting front, Suriya is currently giving finishing touches to KV Anand-directed 'Maatraan', which is expected to hit the screens this summer. On its completion, the actor is expected to join hands once again with his lucky mascot, director Hari.

Suriya and Karthi to team up

Popular actors and sons of veteran actor Sivakumar, Suriya and Karthi will jointly release the audio and trailer of the film Oru Kal Oru Kannadi on March 5.

The film, a romantic comedy is written and directed by M Rajesh.

 Named after a song from Rajesh's debut film Siva Manasula Sakthi, the film marks the entry of Udhayanidhi Stalin as a hero.

Harris Jayaraj has scored the music for the film.

Hansika Motwani acts as Udhayanidhi's love interest in the film.

 Actor Santhanam is playing a crucial role in the movie.

Udhayanidhi's home production Red Giant movies is producing the rom-com and it's heard that actor Arya, actress Sneha and actress and singer Andrea are making guest appearances in the film.

Singam 2 in foreign locales

Surya and Hari are joining hands once again after Aaru, Vel and Singam in Singam Part 2. The film Singam had Surya, Anushka and Vivek in the cast turned out to be a super hit. Seeing the success of this film, it was remade in Hindi which had Ajay Devgan in the lead role. Hari after seeing the good reception of Singam is readying story for Part 2 of Singam. Only the song sequences in Hari films will be shot in foreign locales but for the first time the song sequences and the climax sequences are to be shot in South Africa and Nigeria. It is understood that Singam 2 will take one more step forward in his career.

MATRAAN AS DUPLICATE

Matraan’s Telugu version will be released under the title Duplicate. Suriya appears in five get-ups in this film and Kajal Agarwal is his lead pair. According to sources, there is a stiff competition to procure the rights of Matraan right from the beginning and situation is no different in Tollywood.

Suriya is immensely popular in Tollywood and Kollywood and therefore director KV Anand wants to release it in both the languages. Matraan is expected to hit the screens either during the fag end of May or early June. Harris Jayaraj has scored the music for this film.

Suriya and Venkat Prabhu discuss

The groundwork for Suriya and Venkat Prabhu’s next has begun already. The director is holding discussions with the star in Hyderabad, say sources in the film industry. Venkat Prabhu has said that he has an extraordinary script for Suriya and the star is happy to have signed up the offer.

The film has not been titled yet. It will be produced by Studio Green with Yuvan Shanar Raja wielding the music baton. The hunt for a suitable heroine is also on, say sources.

Surya’s Maatraan shooting restarted

Surya's upcoming movie shootings most probably restarted today. Surya’s upcoming film Maatraan under the direction of K V Anand was halted by technicians due to salary revisal issue. Today Maatraan’s song shoot restarted at Ramoji Film City. A short meeting between AGS Entertainment and FEFSI resulted in a compromise and FEFSI have agreed that they will not create any barriers for the shoot from the moment.


Kajal Aggarwal is playing female lead role in the movie. Vivek is playing an important role in the movie. Maatraan is based on present day story with perfect blend of action thriller. KV Anand is directing the movie and Harris Jayaraj is composing music. AGS Entertainment is producing the movie. The movie is scheduled to hit big screens on June 2012.

Surya or Karthi for Alagu Raja

Studio green productions by Gnanavel Raja known for there movies such as Jil nu oru kadhal, Paruthiveeran, Paiya is again back in action with the title Alagu Raja .Sources close to the banner reveals that the tiltle has a mass appeal and has been registered by Studio green. The production house has registered the title and the question is that the tiltle is registered for Surya’s upcoming flick or it is Karthi ‘s upcoming flick. Both the films are under production and the guess is that it belongs to whom. So let us wait and see who grabs the tile Alagu Raja.

Suriya 3D film Sonam Kapoor Latest updates!!

Suriya ‘s 3D film which will direct by Venkat Prabhu is keen to have Sonam Kapoor in the female lead.

Venkat Prabhu, after Ajith’s Mankatha was success signed his next film with Suriya in the lead. An insider says, “Director is eager to rope in Sonam Kapoor for the female lead, as she suits the role better.” He further added, “Prabhu likes, her girl to next door looks and her action as well, any ways he has to discuss about it with Suriya.”

K.E.Gnanavelraja is producing Suriya and Venkat Prabhu’s 3D flick under his Studio Green banner and music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The shooting will commence once completed Suriya in K.V.Anand’s Maatraan.

Suriya’s new director is Venkat Prabhu

It's official that Suriya will be doing a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu with director Venkat Prabhu. 

The film will be producedby veteran producer Muktha Srinivasan and his nephew Govind under the banner of Muktha Entertainment.

Venkat and Suriya coming together has been in the news for quite some time.

Venkat, after the stupendous success of Mankatha is the ideal choice for Suriya who needs a mass hit. The commercial viability of the film is huge.
