Director Hari keen on retaining original cast for ‘Singam 2′

Its no longer news that Suriya – Anushka Shetty and Hansika Motwani will be coming together for 'Singam 2′, a sequel to the 2010 super hit, 'Singam'. However it looks like Hari is hell bent in retaining the original cast from the film for the sequel. The director who knows commercial cinema like the back of his hand has reportedly convinced 'Aachi' Manorama to be a part of the sequel as well. The ace actress was ill and underwent treatment recently, for various reasons. This film will now mark her comeback on big screen as she was last seen in 'Ponnar Shankar'. The sequel will go on floors once Suriya wraps 'Maatraan' with KV Anand, the film is nearing its completion with just a couple of songs pending to be canned. 'Singam 2′ will boast off the same cast and crew but will see a few additions like Hansika Motwani and Santhanam. Buzz is that Hansika will play a school tot in this film.

Surya’s 10 Crores Introduction Scene

Here we reveal the name of the Buddhisht monk character Suriya is doing in '7aum Arivu'. The actor plays Dhamo. The song 'Rise Of Dhamo…' features Suriya as a Chinese monk. The song features a young child praising their saviour, Dhamo, that is to say the monk character played by Suriya. It is one of the USPs of the film. The first 15 minutes of the film will be a visual treat for the audience," they say and add: "Nearly Rs 10 crore has been spent for the introduction scene of Suriya. Producer Udhayanidhi Stalin was liberal to get quality end-product." Directed by A R Murugadoss, '7aum Arivu' has Shruthi Haasan as heroine. "The Chinese song composed by Harris Jayaraj will be performed live at the audio launch of the film, which is scheduled in Chennai on September 22," add sources.

Jyothika wants to act: Suriya

In a recent interview actor Suriya has revealed that his wife and former actress Jyothika still has the desire to get back to acting. He made it a point to clarify that it wasn't his decision to keep her away from acting. But when quizzed him as to why she takes up only endorsements but not films, Suriya explains that shoot for endorsement lasts only for a couple of days and that she thinks she cannot afford spending long time in shooting spots without being there for her children. The Maatraan actor also said that his lady will come to act when she thinks that it is the appropriate time. Jyothika's last release was Seetha Kalyanam in Malayalam. Maatran shot near India-Pakistan border

The Maatran cast and crew are giving the film their very best and shooting is going on at full speed.

Recently, the talented DOP turned director KV Anand went near the Indo- Pak border to can one part of the movie starring Suriya and Kajal Aggarwal. The shoot was reportedly done near Bhuj in Gujarat.

The shoot lasted for five days for an important talkie portion in a part of the safe zone near the border. The location had a rustic appeal to it which attracted KV Anand who is known to choose his locations with great care to give viewers that special visual touch and feel.

Added to that, was the fact that it also fitted in perfectly with the storyline, making it an ideal choice.

The only thing that made the shoot unbearable was the high temperatures. Now what remains to be shot is a song which will be shot in either Europe or Alaska. Maatran is scheduled to release on August 15 worldwide.

Hansika as a School Girl in Surya’s Singam 2

Hansika is busy signing back to back films in Kollywood and is all set to play the role as a bubbly school girl in her forthcoming movie with Suriya in the lead. Hansika is even shedding some kilos of weight for this chubby look. Hari will be wielding the megaphone for this commercial action entertainer Singam 2, which is the remake of yesteryears blockbuster Singam. This sequel casts Hansika pairing up with Suriya, unlike its original version that has Anushka playing the female lead Devi Sri Prasad has already composed a couple of songs for Singam 2.The actress seems controlling weight for her school girl role. However Hansika confirms that "My fans love me as a bubbly girl and not in zero size and it is even important to be fit, but not slim." Speaking on Settai Hansika added, "Settai unit is a complete young team, so we all are having fun and it is totally like a college atmosphere in the sets. I know Arya in the sets of OKOK, while he played a cameo and its pleasure working with him," she concluded.

Devi Sri Prasad speaks on Singam 2

DSP, as he is fondly known among film fraternity, Devi Sri Prasad is only seen on and off in Tamil.  He is currently busy with Hari – Suriya's Singam 2 for which he has already scored two songs. DSP revealed this in a recent media interaction. He also has the Karthi starrer Alex Pandian in his upcoming movies list. Apart from which, his work in Telugu is keeping him busy. His latest Telugu release Gabbar Singh is doing quite well.

Actor Suriya on Settai Sets!

The Settai team had an unexpected visitor on the sets yesterday. The shooting of this film is fast progressing and out of the blue dropped in Suriya, who was shooting for the KV Anand directed Matraan at the sets erected nearby. The entire Settai team including Arya, director Kannan, and PG Muthiah were happy to meet Suriya who spent some time talking to the cast and crew of Settai. The Settai team then visited the Matraan sets and were awed by the huge set built there for the shooting. UTV's Dhananjayan said that the Settai team was happy with the interaction with Suriya and loved every minute of it.

Actor Suriya's Matraan Sold for a Record Price

The producers of Matraan, AGS Entertainment, have sold the theatrical rights of the film to Eros International for a fancy prize. This Suriya starrer has fetched Rs. 43 crores for the theatrical rights. Matraan is an action thriller directed by KV Anand. The film is expected to hit the screens on August 15th and the music launch will happen during the fag end of June, state sources. Kajal Agarwal has played the female lead in this film. S Sounder Rajan has cranked the camera for Matraan and knowing KV Anand's penchant for exotic locations, the film is sure to provide a visual treat for the movie buffs out there. Sachin Khedekar and others form a part of the star cast. Harris Jayaraj has scored the music for Matraan and expectations on the audio are high considering his previous track record with the Suriya-KV Anand project Ayan.

Eros bagged Suriya’s Maatraan theatrical rights

Suriya's 'Maatran' TN theatricals sold!

Its official! Suriya’s KV Anand directed Maatranproduced by AGS Entertainment’s has sold the Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka theatrical rights to Eros International Media Ltd (Eros Entertainment).

Eros has been assigned the Tamil theatrical rights for Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka and the Tamil audio rights of the movie. A press statement has been issued by Eros.

Commenting on the acquisition, Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International Media Ltd said, "With Maatraan, Eros continues to explore and establish its presence in the regional film markets. The film promises to be one of its kind action thrillers and we are happy to associate with AGS Entertainment Private Limited to release this much awaited film with the hugely popular Suriya".

Kalpathi S. Aghoram, Director, AGS Entertainment the producers of the film added, “There exists a huge potential for AGS Entertainment and Eros International to synergize given our experience in Tamil film production and their global presence with content spread across most leading Indian languages”.

Maatran has Suriya, Kajal Aggarwal in the lead and is directed by KV Anand with music by Harris Jayaraj. It is one of the biggest movies of 2012. Maatran is slated for release on 15th August 2012.
